Loving Lace

Lace what a beautiful fabric, especially for a wedding. There are some amazing dresses, with beautiful lace work, and with the current trend of vintage not going anywhere at the moment, it can make some amazing finishing touches to your day.

I could have got quite carried away, as there are so many beautiful things you can do. But again I wanted to keep it simple so easily repeated in numbers!

So off I popped to my local fabric shop, and was pleasantly surprised you can get a metre of lace for under €2.00. So here’s a few ideas to get you thinking!WIN_20141109_101925 (2)

STUFF YOU NEED

  • Lace
  • Jars/containers
  • Glue gun(about €8.00 from craft shop and mines about 6 years old and still going)
  • Sharp scissors
  • Ribbon

Step 1: Heat up glue gun so it’s ready. Make sure glass is lovely and clean before you start, nothing more annoying than trying to clean after !

Measure lace by wrapping round jar and then cut slightly longer to be safe. You need sharp scissors to give clean lines.

Choose where you want the top of the lace to start, put a small dot of glue, then attach the lace and wrap round and then clue the other edge. This way you can line bottom edges more easily and they should be straight.

Try and keep edges as neat as possible it is noticeable in photos

Step 2: Once your ends are all tidy, you can add other things to decorate the jars. I added ribbon to add colour and tie in with a theme.

vase, candle, tealight

As you can see I made a vase and decorated a candle as well.
