Paper Fortune Cookies

Something brides and grooms have cut back recently are wedding favours. So here’s an idea for something cheap and easy to make and fun for your guests.

  •  Card or thick paper in two colours or patterns to contrast on the table but same colours as your theme.
  • Something circular I choose a sellotape ring as a good size, it can’t be too small as it won’t fold.
  • A pencil to draw circle!
  • Scissors to cut the circles out.
  • A glue gun, this works best to hold the them together as you’ll be pre making them.
  •  Lastly some lovely messages for your guests to read. I printed these in simple black font but use your imagination.

Step 1: Draw out your circles, I worked on one fortune cookie per person on the table.

My circle, not my best cutting as being helped by a small person! NOTE Do this when small people are a sleep!

Step 2: Fold the circle in half slightly but not leaving too much of a fold line if possible.

Step 3: Make a dent in the center of this fold to help with bending to the correct shape.

Step 4: Put you message in side the folded part which will become the inside of the Cookie. Then pull the two edges towards each other to form the cookie shape. This might take some practice as it can fold in half an not curve.

Step 5: Once you have you shape I used a glue gun to place a dot near the top of the fold to help hold the shape of the cookie and this works much better than sellotape as this may lose it stickiness if made a lot earlier. Then keep repeating till you have enough!
